A few questions about nice things...

Who do you most admire?

People who work hard to make their dreams come true. Also my children, for the sheer joy they find in everything – their enthusiasm to try new things is infectious. And my husband, for being a great role model and inspiring this sense of adventure within our family.

What are your favourite possessions?

My photographs, camera, sewing machine, and a memory box from my twins’ first year.

Tell us about your perfect day or weekend...

A little lie in, then a pot of tea and biscuits in bed with my family, reading. Then we’d pack a simple picnic, pick a new route from our local walking book and get lost in the wilderness for the day. At the end of our walk there’d be a lovely pub, where we would enjoy a nice cold pint (and squash!) and share some crisps while we talk about our favourite bits of the walk. Later at home, the children would be tucked up in bed and my husband and I would relax on the sofa to watch something funny with a bottle of Rose wine.

What makes you happiest?

Being a mother, discovering a really great book, my family, learning a new craft, and an uninterrupted sewing session.

What would you like to do in the future?

It’s always been my ambition to become a writer. My children start school later this year, which I hope will give me an opportunity to really immerse myself in more writing projects. I’d love to write a craft book one day.
